The palace, built in the second half of the 18th century, was reconstructed in solid construction after the war in 1984.
As a listed cultural monument used for events and seminars, it requires a comprehensive fire protection renovation. The measures include the replacement of all interior doors, the renewal of the building-wide ventilation system, and the upgrading of all safety-related installations—among other things, the main stairwells and escape routes have been equipped with air flushing systems. The integration of technical facilities was developed in close coordination with the State Office for Monument Preservation.
A key part of the renovation also includes the restoration of the representative rooms, such as the Jaques Offenbach Hall on the first floor of the palace.
As part of the renovation, the fire department access routes and setup areas in the listed park were also improved. Before the renovation work, an extensive hazardous materials remediation had to be carried out.
